TWO DAYS REFRESHER COURSE FOR THE PHARMACIST Sponsored by GUJARAT STATE PHARMACY COUNCIL

Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol; organized a refresher course for pharmacists on 16th and 17th February, 2019. The course was sponsored by Gujarat State Pharmacy Council, Ahmedabad. The course started with registration and refreshment at 9:00 am., all the participants were provided the printed course material, along with kit. Total 113 registered pharmacists were participated. The inauguration function started with introduction and welcome of guests by Dr. Shailesh T. Prajapati, Principal of Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol. Guests were felicitated after lightening the lamp. Dr. L. D. Patel (Former Principal and Director, Sharda School of Pharmacy, Pethapur, Gandhinagar) was the chief guest. Dr. A. K. Patel (Managing Director of Umiya Mata Kadva Patidar Education and Samaj Seva Trust) was the Patron in Chief. Mr. Chetan Vora ( Executive Chairman of Umiya Mata Kadva Patidar Education and Samaj Seva Trust) was Patron. Of inauguration function. Dr. Samir C. Patel delivered his speech regarding the two days refresher course for registered pharmacist. Dr. L. D. Patel (Former Principal and Director, Sharda School of Pharmacy, Pethapur, Gandhinagar) had delivered a lecture on NDDS - innovations in gastro retentive drug delivery systems; he discussed innovations in drug delivery systems giving suitable examples. Second lecture was delivered by Ms. Khushi Pathak (Executive officer, Drug information center, Gujarat State Pharmacy council, Ahmedabad) on Drug-Drug Interaction in type-II Diabetes. After lunch the third lecture of day was delivered by Dr. Shailesh T. Prajapati (Principal, Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol) on E- pharmacy practice and advancement, e-prescription concept. He nicely discussed the E-pharmacy and eprescription concept. The fourth lecture of day was delivered by Dr. Deepa Patel (Professor, Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol) on Analytical method development basis and steps involved. Shee gave details of method development and validation steps. After breakfast the morning session started with a lecture by Dr. Samir C. Patel (Professor, Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol) on Patient counseling in anti tubercular drugs. He focused on causes and treatment of tuberculosis. Second lecture was delivered by Dr. Keyur S. Patel (Associate Professor, Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol) on Medication Error. He discussed about different medication errors with examples. The third lecture of day was delivered by Dr. Ankit Chaudhary (Professor and Director PG, Saraswati Institute of Pharmaceutical Science, Chiloda) gave informative lecture on Storage of Drugs. He talked about different storage conditions for drugs. Objective test was conducted at 2:30 pm. Valedictory function was scheduled, Dr. Jayesh Patel (Sr. Drug Inspector, FDCA, Gandhinagar) presided the function as Chief Guest. Dr. Bhavik N. Patel, Director, student welfare department, Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar was Guest of Honor. Dr. Bibhuranjan Panigahi, Sr. Research Scientist, Lupin Pharmaceutical Ltd. Pune was the distinguish guest. Dr. Shailesh T. Prajapati, Principal, Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol introduced the guests. Guests were facilitated by staff members. Finally, Dr. Darshna Y. Industrial Visit at Ratnamani Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. – 2018

Kalol Institute of Pharmacy, Kalol had organized an Industrial Visit of B. Pharm & M.
Pharm students on dated 20/01/2018 at Ratnamani Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., Indrad, Kadi,
Mehsana.
Ratnamani Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. is manufacturing solid & parenteral dosage forms. The
manufacturing facilities are carried out at WHO-GMP certified plant with innovative
technologies to formulate the solid & parenterals.
Dr. Yatendra Verma, Sr. Manager (Ratnamani Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.) gave brief
introduction of the Ratnamani Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. He showed and explained in detail
various departments like Quality control, raw material store, packaging material store.
Moreover he had also explained about various equipments & process used during
manufacturing of Tablets, capsules & small volume parenterals.
Later on students were shown documentation store room, which is a vital necessity of
pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Shailesh Prajapati, Dr. Samir Patel, Dr. Deepa Patel, Dr. Keyur Patel, Dr. Advaita
Patel, Mr. Jayanti Bajag & Mr. Chirag Gajjar visited the manufacturing facility with students.
