COURSE DESCRIPTION

Pharmaceutics is a truly multidisciplinary specialization focused on the science of drug delivery. Pharmaceutics is a multidisciplinary science involves the formulation development, production and characterization of various dosage forms as well as studying the drug's disposition and action within the body. It can be very well said that the department of pharmaceutics deals with the process of turning a new chemical entity (NCE) into a medication to be used safely and effectively by patients. It is also called the science of dosage form design.

Quality Assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes or defects in Pharmaceutical manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering solutions or services to patients. Quality assurance includes two principles: "Fit for purpose" (the product should be suitable for the intended purpose); and "right first time" (mistakes should be eliminated). QA includes management of the quality of raw materials, assemblies, products and components, services related to production, and management, production and inspection processes. Department of Quality assurance is the backbone of the teaching as well as research in the pharmacy education program since analysis of the raw material as well as the finished product is of prime importance for the safety and efficacy for human consumption.

Eligibility A. Student passed B. Pharm examination with 50% (45% of SC/ST/SEBC candidates).
B. Students are required to meet minimum eligibility criteria as per ACPC guidelines in each respective academic year.
C. Students have to obtain the qualifying marks in GPAT or Non-GPAT Examination in respective academic year.
